Vinayaka Chavithi (Ganesh Chaturthi) honours Lord Ganesha — the remover of obstacles, patron of arts and sciences, and the deity of intellect and wisdom.

Significance

Ganesha is worshipped at the beginning of every new venture as Vighnaharta (remover of obstacles). The ten-day festival represents the cycle of creation and dissolution. The clay idol symbolises the impermanence of physical form.
