Dusshera (Vijayadashami) celebrates the triumph of dharma over adharma — the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana and Goddess Durga's defeat of the demon Mahishasura.
Significance
Vijayadashami — the 'Victorious Tenth Day' — marks the culmination of Navratri. It symbolises the triumph of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and self-mastery over ego. It is considered the most auspicious day to begin new learning.
