Varalakshmi Vratam

Festival

Varalakshmi Vratam

వరలక్ష్మి వ్రతం

📅 August 7, 2026 (Friday)

Varalakshmi Vratam is a sacred vow observed by married women, seeking the blessings of Goddess Varalakshmi — a form of Lakshmi who grants boons (vara). It falls on the Friday before the full moon in the Shravana month.

Significance

Varalakshmi is one of the most cherished festivals among Telugu and Kannada women. The Goddess is invoked in a kalasha (sacred pot) and worshipped for the well-being of the family. It is believed that worshipping Varalakshmi on this day is equivalent to worshipping Ashtalakshmi — the eight forms of Lakshmi.
